HOT Lanes on Interstate 95

The Road to Ruin project has distributed an article about the proposal to convert HOV lanes in Northern Virginia to HOT lanes and extend them to Fredericksburg. Headline: Proposed I-95 HOT Lanes A Mixed Bag: They'd Pay Their Own Way but Inspire More Sprawl.

I think one thing is certain, HOT lanes will put even more upward pressure on housing prices in the Fburg area. Not a bad thing for those of us already here.

What are the tolls being proposed?

With a million new jobs projected to be coming to Northern Virginia over the next couple of decades, I would stop calling it sprawl and start calling it reality. Build now or forever keep infrastructure lagging behind the population growth that WILL come with those new jobs.
